Coca-Cola Middle East in Cooperation with the Food Banking Regional Network Provides Millions of Meals to Syrian Refugee camps in addition to the Needy Families in Jordan, Lebanon & Iraq

 

Dubai, UAE, xxxxxxxx – The Coca-Cola Company, has extended the partnership for the 3rd year with the Food Banking Regional Network to support the delivery of more than 1.5 million meals and beverage packages to Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan in addition to the Needy families in Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, through the Jordanian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Saudi Food Banks and their Data base. This contribution is a cornerstone of the ‘Eradication of Hunger by 2020’ initiative, jointly implemented by Coca-Cola Middle East and the Food Banking Regional Network. Millions go to bed hungry every night, but as Coca-Cola emphasizes, for every reason to despair, there are reasons to hope. Thus, this year when the iconic Coca-Cola trucks pull up to the refugee camps, the hope is that they will bring happiness with them.

 

Coca-Cola is a company that is both global and local, giving it a unique opportunity to contribute to positive change in the communities it proudly serves through partnerships with local bottlers. Over 1.5million Ramadan meals and Coca-Cola beverages are being distributed by Coca-Cola and local bottlersthroughout the aforementioned countries as part of the 2014 campaign, which is a continuation of last year’s initiative by Coca-Cola. In 2013 the company donated more than 1 million meal packages to underprivileged families in Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and only beverage for KSA.
